Mr. Manding Saidykhan, Principal Assistant Secretary at the Ministry of Interior has urged Gambian youth to avoid using the dangerous route to Europe in search of greaner pasture. He stressed the need for the youth of this country to venture into Qnet business networking, so as to reduce the unemployment rate in the country.

He made the exhortation while addressing hundreds of youths who gathered at a forum organized by Qnet Business Networking and held at Qcity hall in Brusubi, on Sunday, 8 March.

The aim of forum was to enlighten Youths more about what Qnet is all about, it achievements, challenges and success stories.

Officials said Qnet is a leading e-commerce based direct selling business offering a wide range of health, wellness and lifestyle products to customers around the world.

Saidykhan continued by expressing gratitude to Qnet for coming up to their office and explained to them what is the network all about, it security and benefits to the youth folk of the country.

He said youths are the future leaders of tomorrow, thus he commended Qnet for coming up with this double initiative, opining it would help to discourage the young people from embarking on the back way journey as the business “is all about creating job employment” to the young people.

Principal Assistant Secretary Saidykhan claimed that the sustainability of Qnet is to make sure that youths stand for themselves without depending on others. He used occasion to challenge the Qnet officials to encourage more youths to join Qnet in order to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country.

The Deputy Permanent Secretary (DPS) at the Ministry of Youths and Sports, Mr. Sutay Jawo, also spoke at the event, challenging the Gambian youths to continue the good move at Qnet. He thanked Qnet for bringing development to the door step of Gambian youths.

DPS Jawo told his audience that the new government {of Adama Barrow} is so much concerned about the young people, and he therefore, held that introducing Qnet to the Gambia is a step in the right direction.

Mr. Musa Nyockeh, an independent distributor of Qnet explained how the business has his life and that of his family, saying he’s a staff of the The Gambia Armed Forces since 1998, and he joined Qnet 7 months ago.

“My 7 months in the business is far better than my 5 years salary in the Gambia Armed Forces; and I employed 15 members of my family in the business. Some of them {have} never been to school but today, they are earning more than someone with Master’s degree,” claimed Nyockeh.

He called on Gambians, especially those in the civil service, to make the best use of the business, vouching that one could take the business along side any other carrier, as it is a part time job.

Ms. Awa Yaffa, who was a teacher, and a member of Qnet, explained how Qnet won her heart to quit the teaching field, and then ventured into the business.

She disclosed that her father was in the teaching field for more than 50 years and he couldn’t achieve anything for the family; but thanks to Qnet, both she and her father, mother and her other family members are employed by Qnet and benefiting more from the business.

Mr. Lamin Ceesay, also from Qnet, told the gathering that the development of the country lies in the hands of the young people.

According to him, the Gambia has a solution-which is Qnet- since it came to “solve” youths problems and empower them.
