A medical report, bearing Bafrow Medical Centre’s name, has indicated under ‘Imaging finding‘, that the 21-year-old Alhusainey Manneh, suffers “widespread bone malformation involving tibia, fibula, calcaneus [also called the heel bone], and astragalus, with severe deformation of the ankle.

”Suspect reliquate of the previous fracture of the femur without preparation, deformity of the distal segment with suspect fission with the astragalus.

“Deformity of the distal portion of the fibula with pseudo-joint with deformed astragalus, astragalus, and calcaneum are not clearly visible, diffuse education of calcium content in tharsum and metatharusm.”

‘Diagnosis opinion’‘ says, ‘Complete deformity of L [left] leg and ankle, open space in the tibial diaphisis’.

Alhusainey’s father, Mr. Babucarr O. Manneh, recalled  while he was on postings in Central River Region as a teacher, his son, then 7 years-old, went out with his fellow kids to the playing ground and  fell down there.

Manneh lamented that Alhusainey had been suffering from this pain since 2004, and despite going through a leg operation, “to date the condition of this leg has really increased in terms of pain”.

He described his son as “a very vibrant and intelligent boy” whose aim is to become an engineer in the future. Manneh further disclosed that his son, a Grade 12 graduate of Kabafita Senior Secondary School with 4 credits and a pass, got admission at GTTI but couldn’t continue his education due to his current condition.

He’s, therefore, calling on the general public, especially philanthropists, to come to their aid for Alfusainey to get overseas treatment, so that he would be able to continue his education and actualize his dreams.

The patient’s mother, Mrs. Amie Manneh, said they went to many hospitals (in the country) but her son’s leg condition is still the same.

She divulged that as a mother, “it really breaks my heart to see my son in such pain and suffering and [I] cannot do any to help him out. Alhusainey is my eye and my second born”. She appealed for help either in cash or in-kind, to enable them take the boy for overseas treatment.

Speaking to this medium, Alhusainey himself called on people to help him get treatment so that he could return back to his daily activities and achieve his dreams as well as help his father in raising his siblings.

“I got four (4) credits but due to the condition [of my leg], I could not study like I want to because of the pain,” he stated, confirming he got an admission to GTTI, to study engineering but he couldn’t pursue it because of his situation.

Meanwhile, all those who want to help Alhusainey who needs an urgent intervention to ameliorate his current difficult situation, could reach him or the family through the following numbers: 5929456,7651111, 3242965, or 6175021.
