The first National Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) Conference set for July, 23- 25, 2019 will be a unique gathering of best business minds and leaders in the Gambia, according to the promotional brochure.
The event is to be held at the Labranda Coral Beach Hotel and Spa located in Kololi, in the Western part of the country.
The conference, is organise in collaboration with Gambia Investment and Export Promotional Agency (GIEPA), Gambia Chamber of Commerce (GCCI) and SAHEL Investment, targets the very top executives of businesses in the Gambia, public or private, big, medium or small as well as heads of financial institutions, policy makers, investors and advocates of business and entrepreneurship development.
The three-day event on business development and capacity enhancement is geared towards providing a platform for experiential knowledge sharing and networking for business leaders, policy makers, financial institutions and entrepreneurs in the country.
As indicated in the promotional brochure, the event will allow participants to engage in frank, positive and progressive discourses on the challenges facing business development in the Gambia and the way forward.
It’s regarded as the first stage for businesses to forge lasting partnership, collaboration and networking to generate and critique problems solving ideas for enhanced socio-economic development on the Gambia.
The thematic areas are as follows: Financial services, travel and tourism, entrepreneurship, youth and women, IT, media and telecom, development projects, policy regulations, education, construction, energy and industry, travel and logistics, agribusiness and fisheries.
As part of the foremost CEOs National Conference, the president of the Republic, H.E. Mr. Adama Barrow, is expected to deliver a speech, and other speakers lined up, are the country’s Minister of Higher Education, Research Science and Technology (MoHERST), Hon. Dr. Badara Joof; the President of Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI); and CEO SAHEL Investment.
After the official opening ceremony, invited participants will have the opportunity to network among themselves, and the Gambian President and other dignitaries will be part of that interaction session.
The conference will be running from 09:00a.m – 17:00hrs, daily with breakout sessions on various topics looking into challenges facing Gambian businesses.
The Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs, Hon. Mamburay Njie, Director General of Management Development Institute (MDI), and the CEO of GIEPA will also deliver the closing statements, as per the information obtained by this medium.
