Two Ambassadors and many other senior staffers from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will be visiting the National Agricultural Land and Water Management Development Project (Nema-Chosso) Project sites, during their sojourn in the West African state of The Gambia, from 19-20 November, 2019.
Officials of the Project Support Unit (PSU) of the Ministry of Agriculture and Nema-Chosso project are expected to receive the high-powered IFAD delegation from Rome, Italy, including 2 European Union (EU) Ambassadors.
The purpose of the visit is to see some of the Nema-Chosso selected intervention sites in West Coast and Lower River Regions, respectively.
Mr. Momodou L. Gassama, the Project Director of Nema, project staff, media practitioners, amongst others, yesterday afternoon- 18th November, 2019 left Banjul for the Agricultural Rural Farmers’ Training Center in Jenoi in the provincial town of Jarra Soma, to welcome the visiting IFAD delegation.
The visit, according to officials in Banjul, will help the visiting Ambassadors to see for themselves the level of project implementation by the Nema-Chosso, which will also help boost the effective service delivery of Nema-Chosso project.
The Ambassadors are expected to arrive in the country on Tuesday, 19 November, upon completion of their engagement with sister institutions in Dakar, Senegal.
They will be met on arrival at the Gambia-Senegal border in the Farafenni end, by their Gambian hosts, and the historic event will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday, to be characterized with field visits to the sites financed by the Nema-Chosso.
