Mr. Deejay Limbo, the Austria-based Gambian reggae and dancehall artist, who arrived in the country on Monday, 24 December 2019, is expected to showcase his musical talents at the country’s biggest and much-awaited musical jamboree dubbed “Open Mic Festival”, scheduled to take place at the Independence Stadium, Bakau.

“I have been to Open Mic, twice, as a spectator. The energy at Open Mic is crazy…,” he said. The visiting musician said his expectations are very high as he’s having a ‘virus song’, and that he’s going to do his best to see what the outcome would be.

According to Limbo, his fans knew that he came with “real energy”, but he also promised to impress the new fans. The Vienna-based Gambian international opined that it’s obvious this year he would be winning the foreign based Artist of the year as he did in 2016.

He spiritedly echoed, “I know am going to win it, because I know I have done the most when it comes to Gambian Artist in foreign lands.”

Mr. John Kwesi, who is internationally known by his nickname Deejay Limbo, was born in Latrikunda-German in the Gambia, to a “Ghanaian father and a Gambian mother,” as this medium gathered.

He began his Career as a DJ in 2005, and in 2010, Limbo started singing and rapping which led to his relocation to Austria in 2011 where he’s performing as a reggae-dancehall artist. He writes songs and produces music.
