Empowering the Next Generation
Rosemond Eric Johnson, Founder and Executive Director of Hope for the Future, explained that the organization is dedicated to supporting vulnerable children, migrant returnees, and survivors of human trafficking.
She emphasized: โWe help children gain access to education, food, clothing, and in some cases, shelter. Many young people face challenges due to their family background, but with Hope for the Future, we assure them that regardless of their circumstances, they can achieve their ambitions in life.โ
Child Protection and Advocacy
Solomon Atibuni, Acting National Coordinator of the Child Protection Alliance (CPA), highlighted the importance of safeguarding childrenโs rights. He noted that the CPA was established in 2021 through a UNICEF initiative and has since been advocating for child protection across the country.
He told participants: โThis session provides a unique platform for you to understand what CPA stands for and how your rights can be protected.โ
Keynote Address: Purpose and Integrity
Delivering the keynote speech, Dwright Wilson, Public Relations Officer of AU Watch, urged students to recognize their purpose and potential. He stressed the importance of discipline, consistency, and turning passion into profession.
Wilson cautioned against societal โaccidentsโ such as drug abuse, corruption, and lack of integrity, describing them as โthe three cancers destroying Africa today.โ He encouraged the youth to embrace unity and responsibility, saying: โYoung man, young woman, this is your world. Deliver. Drive safely.โ
