The deputy Director of Human Resources and Administration (HR/Admin.) at the country’s Revenue Authority, Dr. Seedy Drammeh [PhD], has unveiled his 31st publication to members of the press.

The Gambia Revenue Authority (GRA) senior official, who could now be regarded as a “consistent author”, recently penned his latest book titled: ‘The Importance of Setting Goals and Benefits of Mentoring Relationship’, bringing the number of books he authored to 31.

Dissecting the book to the media, Dr. Drammeh informed that it contains useful information about the importance of setting goals, having a plan and mentor to guide you towards achieving your goals.

The Revenue Authority’s deputy Director of HR, who is contributing to the advancement of the country’s literature, further argued, “It is important to point out that setting personal goals gives a person long-term vision and short-term inspiration.”

Dr. Drammeh is positive that his new book helps a person to focus on what he/she wants to accomplish and also guides him/her to organize his/her time and financial resources, so as to effectively utilize them to achieve the desired goals.

In his words, the book provides information on what should be done when setting personal goals; and that anyone who wants to be successful at the highest level needs to set achievable goals. The goals should be clear and realistic so that you would be able to accomplish your dream, said the author.

As the ardent Gambian writer added, it’s a fact that lots of people find it difficult to know if they are achieving positive results because they don’t set goals. Dr. Drammeh had these words of encouragement: “Anyone who wants to achieve something great should decide what he/she wants in life.

“The individual should also have a plan to guide him/her.He/she should carefully choose what he/she want and select personal objectives areas he/she wish to focus on in life.”

The Book, as he disclosed, also gives information about benefits of mentoring to people working on personal initiatives as well as at workplace, and how it helps people to accomplish their goals.

“It may interest the reader to know that mentoring in workplace creates employees fulfillment. It encourages employees to learn new skills,” he enlightened.

He further asserted that the book also assists institutions retain key skills and knowledge while at the same time reduces the amount of work on the key employees. In general, he said the book contains lots of valuable information.

The author-cum-Deputy Director of HR & Admin, expressed special gratitude to late Mr. Saraba Sano, Headmaster of Soma Primary School; late ML Drammeh, Lecturer at Muslim High School; late Momodou Kabba Tambajang-First Commissioner General of GRA; Mr. Ismaila Ceesay-former Managing Director of erstwhile Gambia Public Transport Corporation [GPTC]; Mr. Marius W de Jong from the Netherlands; and the MunaZamat Al-Dawa Al –Islamia Foundation in The Gambia.
